Dr. Yue-Teh Jang Chairman and Board Director
Dr. Jang is currently the President and CEO of Medeon Biodesign. He spent the last 13 years as general partner of The Vertical Group and has more than 30 years of experience in various executive positions in the healthcare industry. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Embol-X, Ensure Medical, Integrated Vascular System, and Kyphon. Prior to that time, Dr. Jang was vice-president for corporate R&D at Boston Scientific, vice-president for R&D at Cardiovascular Imaging Systems, a project manager with Mallinckrodt Medical, and a scientist with Deseret Medical. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Inphenix, Tricorntech, iXensor, and Somnics. Dr.Jang received a B.S. in Materials Science from National Tsing-Hua University, Taiwan and a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Utah.
Dr. Hong-Jen Chang Board Director
Dr. Chang is currently the Chairman and CEO of YFY Biotech Management Company as well as the President & CEO of Taiwan Global BioFund (TGB) of YFY Group (TSE ticker: 1907), one of very successful healthcare venture funds in Taiwan. He particularly focuses on incubations and early-stage investments, and works closely with entrepreneurs of portfolio companies. Before joining YFY Group, Dr. Chang has extensive experiences in healthcare sector. During his 16 years service with the government, he held several positions in the Department of Health, Taiwan, including Deputy Minister, President & CEO of Bureau of National Health Insurance, and Director General of Center of Disease Control. Dr. Chang is known for his expertise in health insurance, disease control, biopharmaceutical industry and health information systems. Dr. Chang received his Master of Science in Public Health from National Taiwan University, and Master of Health Policy and Management from Harvard School of Public Health..
Dr. Chang-Hai Tsai Board Director
Dr. Tsai is the Chairman of China Medical University and founder of Asia University, Taiwan. He held numerous roles in the public health and medical affairs committees across various functions of National Healthcare Bureau, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and National Health Research Institutes. He has been served as the National Policy Advisor of the President Office, R.O.C. and a variety of managerial roles within non-profit organizations. Dr. Tsai is trained as a pediatrist from China Medical University, and became a visiting researcher in the Department of Pediatrics for neurology, Feinburg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, and he later earned his Ph.D. from Teikyo University, Japan.
Dr. Chih-Hsiung Wu Board Director
Dr. Wu is the CEO of Hsing Tian Kong Foundation Medical Mission and the Superintendent of En Chu Kong Hospital. He graduated from Taipei Medical University, and completed his surgical training from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. He held roles in the clinical medicine, medical education and hospital management. Now he is also the Chair Professor of Taipei Medical University and the Executive Director of Taiwan Hospital Association. Dr. Wu received his Ph.D. from Dokkyo Medical University, Japan.
Dr. Chih-Hang Yang Independent Board Director
Dr. Yang is currently the Chairman of Colorful Marine Biotechnology. Prior to his roles in various government positions, he was the Chairman of Department of Computer Science, Tamkang University, and the Dean of Academic Affairs and VP of National Kaoshiung First University of Science and Technology. After few postings in private sector, Dr.Yang served as the Director General of Department of International Programs, National Science Council, and was later appointed as the Director of Science and Technology Division, TECO in San Francisco. He was highly instrumental in initiating an innovative MedTech training platform, Stanford-Taiwan Biomedical Fellowship Program. Dr. Yang received his B.S degree in Electronic Engineering, Tatung University, and earned both his Master and Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Computer Science, Southampton University.
Dr. Chia-Ying Ma Independent Board Director
Dr. Ma is currently the Dean of Office of Research Development, and the Professor of Department of Accounting in Soochow University, Taiwan. He has been active providing consultancy services for a variety of government committees including Public Service Pension Fund, Directorate-General of Budget for Accounting and Statistics, and National Palace Museum. Dr. Ma is a licensed CPA in USA, Taiwan and China. He received his B.S degree in Accounting from National ChengChi University, Master Degree in Accounting from Utah State University, and a Ph.D. Degree in Business and Economics from Lehigh University.
Dr. Jerome Shen Independent Board Director
Dr. Shen is currently the President of Allgenesis Biotherapeutics. He was previously the President of XinChen Ventures, and the Managing Director of Cheng Xin Venture Group. Dr. Shen possesses over 20 years of venture investment experiences in a wide spectrum of healthcare sector, and held many executive positions of portfolio companies across the regions of USA and Greater China. Dr. Shen has been very active and instrumental in early-stage start-ups and academic incubation projects for biopharmaceutical and medical device business. He received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from National Tsing-Hua University, and a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Madison.
